How close are you to the Town Centre?

We are only a few minutes walk (approximately 400m) from the centre of Queenstown and all it's great Shops, Restaurants and Bars.


Do your rooms have Lake Views?

Unfortunately as we are located directly opposite the beautiful Queenstown Gardens and their tall trees, we are unable to see Lake Wakatipu from any of our Guest Rooms. It is however just a few minutes walk away.


What is your Cancellation Policy?

If cancelled or modified 7 days prior to arrival date there will be no charge.

If cancelled or modified within 7 days prior to arrival date, 100% of the first nights accommodation will be charged.

In the event of cancellation on the day of your arrival or a No-Show, 100% of the total reservation will be charged.

We do highly advise that you consider Travel Insurance in the event of any travel disruptions you may encounter.


Can we store our Luggage?

Absolutely! Many of our guests that are visiting Queenstown are here to hike some of the fantastic walks in the region or spend some time away from Queenstown before returning again.

We are more than happy to store any Luggage free of charge after your departure for the day, overnight or while you’re away for an extended time whether you are returning to stay with us or not.


Is there somewhere to store our Ski/Snowboard gear?

The Lodge has been designed to include a storage room which has individual Ski Lockers for Guest use.

Each of these Ski Lockers has their own key so your gear can be safely locked away. During the winter months we keep a heater on in this room to assist  with drying.


What is your Smoking Policy?

Our entire Lodge including all rooms are completely smoke free. If you are a smoker we suggest you request a room with a balcony so you can easily access an outside area.


Do you have Car Parking?

We have an Undercover Car Park with 7 spaces available to our guests on a first come first served basis. These cannot be reserved.

As not all our guests travel by car this is usually sufficient however there is also free convenient street parking available around the Lodge.


Do you accept Group Bookings?

We do not accept large Group Bookings. Our small Lodge is best suited to free and independent travellers.


Is Breakfast included in the price?

We do not include Breakfast in our room rates.

We do however have a Breakfast Room where we serve Continental & Cooked Breakfast daily for an additional cost. Prices range from $13 to $17 depending on your selection. Bookings are not required.


How do we get to the Lodge from the Airport?

There are several options. These do not need to be pre-booked. 

  • Green Cabs Taxi Company offers Coronation Lodge Guests a fixed rate of NZ$38 from the Airport to Coronation Lodge. Be sure to confirm the fixed rate with the driver before departing the airport. There is a small surcharge if paying by Credit Card.

  • Super Shuttle offers a shared ride service from Queenstown Airport to Coronation Lodge. You can either pre-book your transfer directly online at or just hop on a shuttle waiting outside the terminal building. The first passenger is NZ$22.50 and then an extra NZ$6 for each additional passenger.

  • The local bus operator Orbus departs from outside the Airport Terminal every 15 minutes. Hop off at The Blue Peaks Lodge stop on Stanley Street and from there it's a short 1 minute walk down Sydney Street to Coronation Lodge. 


Are there Cooking Facilities in the Rooms?

All rooms have a small fridge and tea & coffee making facilities.

If you require cooking facilities then please select one of our Deluxe Kitchenette Rooms or the One Bedroom Apartment when making your reservation. These rooms have their own private Kitchen facilities which include a stove top, microwave, toaster and all crockery, cutlery etc, required for cooking.

There is no communal cooking area for guest use in the Lodge.


Do you have Guest Laundry facilities?

Yes we have a self-service Guest Laundry on site with a Washing Machine and a Dryer available. The cost is $2 per load with laundry powder available for purchase for $1.

There is also a Clothes Line available outside as an alternative if you prefer you clothes to be air dried.


What if I have a Special Request?

Then please do tell us! We are more than happy to try and accommodate any special requests if we are informed prior to your arrival – just let us know what it is!

We always try our very best to fulfil any requests from our guests however please note that due to our small size we cannot guarantee all requests.


Are you close to the Ski fields and Ski Transport? 

Our Lodge is approximately 20 minutes drive from Coronet Peak Ski Field, 45 minutes drive from The Remarkables Ski Field, and 1 hours drive from Cardrona Alpine Resort.

All Ski Fields provide shuttle buses with the two ski fields operated by NZ SKI (Coronet Peak and The Remarkables) providing a pick up point outside the ‘Snow Centre’ on Duke Street which is a short 5 minutes walk downhill from the Lodge. 

If you wish to go to Cardrona Ski Field pick up can be arranged from the Lodge.


Can we book Activities with you? 

Absolutely! Our staff have experienced many of the amazing Activities that Queenstown and its surrounding areas have to offer therefore have fantastic first hand knowledge to pass on.

We want to make life easy for you with more time to enjoy your stay here in Queenstown therefore Activities can be booked at Reception with the cost of your chosen Activity or Excursion posted to your room account.
